A Will is a legal document containing your wishes as to how your property and assets are to be distributed upon your death, and who is to benefit from your Estate.

Passing away without a professionally drafted Will could cause unnecessary hardship, stress and costs to loved family members that you have left behind. 

Enduring Powers of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a document which allows someone else to act on your behalf in some circumstances where you cannot make those decisions for yourself. You can appoint one or more people to look after your legal and financial affairs and ensure they are managed in your best interest.

An enduring Power of Attorney is a Power of Attorney document designed to continue to operate if you lose your mental capacity.

Both Power of Attorneys and Enduring Power Attorneys give a person power to act for you regarding legal and financial matters. They do not give a person the ability to make decisions concerning your welfare and lifestyle.

Estate Administration

If there are significant assets in the estate (for example, a house) then you will need to obtain a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration to be able to distribute the assets in the estate.

Some estates may be administered informally, without a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration. For example, if the person’s estate comprises of jointly owned assets, motor vehicles, personal effects, cash or small sums of money, then there will likely be no need for a Grant to be sought.

It is our role is to make enquiries with the relevant authorities to determine what assets and liabilities were held by the deceased and the most cost-effective way to release all assets or discharge of the liabilities.
